HIBRID

An article titled “Special Court 'Slaps' Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli, gives the final result for the Heroes of Kosovo” has been distributed on social networks. This publication comes from a dubious “portal” called “valetal.info”, referring to the final verdict of the Special Court, regarding the charges against President Hashim Thaçi and PDK leader Kadri Veseli. The same, after a research in the database of the Business Registration Agency (ARBK) and the Independent Media Commission (IMC), turns out not to be registered as a medium.

Analysis:

Based on an analysis of the facts presented by this article, hibrid.info has assessed that the title does not match the content at all and has no source of information. This text falls into the category of fake news, disinformation, unverified content and 'clickbait'.

Reasoning:

Fake news – The "Fake News" rating is given to media reports that are entirely the product of a medium that itself contains factually incorrect claims or information.

Content that is considered fake news can be reliably determined to have been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.

Disinformation – The rating “Disinformation” is given to media reporting that contains a “mix” of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful content. This rating will also address reports that have incorrect attributions or headlines that do not reflect the text in terms of information accuracy.

Unverified content – The “Unverified” rating is given to those media reports that do not provide sufficient information to confirm the claims made in the report, and which have not been able to confirm the same due to the lack or non-possession of reliable sources.

Clickbait –  “Clickbait” are those texts whose title has no basis in the content of the following text. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the reader or even the consumer with a sensational title by promising content that does not actually exist and are created mainly out of financial interest, that is, due to increased readability. So, this type of text is only intended to click, which can be converted into a profit for the content producer.
