OUR VERDICT

FAKE NEWS

Serbian-language channels on Telegram falsely claim the removal of the Tsar Lazarus monument after the elections.

Serbian language channels on Telegram "Serbian Anger”And“CORRIDOR" on Saturday (June 6) published a content claiming that "after the elections, Albanians will try to remove the monument of 'Tsar Lazar' (Prince Lazar)" in northern Mitrovica.

According to these publications, information about such an action is said to originate from several reports on Albanian-language portals, which are mentioned in general terms, without being further specified or documented.

The truth?

After research and verification of the facts, no information has been found published in the Albanian language media that confirms or suggests the removal of this statue after the elections. Neither in media reports nor in credible sources does such a claim occur.

Also, these Telegram channels do not provide any concrete evidence, documents, or sources that would support the claim made.

Hibrid.info has conducted a Google search regarding this claim spread by these channels, where the results do not show any article or report from credible media that addresses or confirms such information about the removal of this monument (see here).

Earlier, during August 2025, hibrid.info had also handled other cases with similar content related to claims about the removal of this monument, which were assessed as unverified (see here). At that time, in addition to circulating on Serbian-language channels on Telegram, similar content was also distributed on several Albanian-language Facebook pages.
