The portal "Lecanton27.ch", which calls itself "the first Swiss newspaper in the Albanian language", published an article yesterday (February 19) with title "Thousands of Albanians from the diaspora heading to Tirana for tomorrow's nationwide protest for freedom and democracy. Here's how many have left from Switzerland and EU countries."

This portal claims that from the cantons of Geneva and Lausanne alone, 52 cars and 6 transit buses have departed last week via Pristina and Presheva, and some also via Italy and Montenegro, to be part of the the February 20 protest organized by the opposition in Albania.

After verification of the facts conducted by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the aforementioned portal does not provide facts that prove the claim made.

Excerpt from the article published on the portal "Lecanton27.ch":

Bern, February 19 - Thousands of Albanians, not only from neighboring countries (Greece, Italy...) but also from the diaspora and far away, have headed to Tirana this weekend to participate in the nationwide protest on February 20 for freedom and democracy. It is learned that during the last week alone, hundreds of immigrants have left Switzerland for the Albanian capital, some by plane and most by bus and car, reports the Swiss Albanian-language newspaper Le Canton27.ch.

From the cantons of Geneva and Lausanne alone, 52 cars and 6 transit buses have departed last week through Pristina and Presevo, and some through Italy and Montenegro... all with one destination, towards Tirana, for one purpose: to save Albania, as they say, "from the clutches of the current narco-government, from the mafia and corruption!".

After research conducted through "Google", hibrid.info has not found any articles claiming that the Albanian diaspora will participate in this protest. (here)

In the articles of the online media in Albanian language regarding this protest that is expected to be held today (February 20) from 17:30 in Tirana, there is no report on the possible participation of the Albanian diaspora. (see here, here, here and here)
