Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic and the Chairman of the Committee on Kosovo in the Serbian Parliament, Milovan Drecun, have called the changes in the command of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) dangerous for Kosovo Serbs and for the security of the region.
These two senior Serbian officials made these unfounded claims while commenting on the appointment of Bashkim Jashari to the position of commander of the KSF.
Excerpt from Stefanović's statement published on the Serbian-language portal "Kosovo-online.com", translated into Albanian:
Stefanovic: Change in the leadership of the KSF is only a continuation of hostility towards Serbs and a new threat to the region
Serbia's Defense Minister, Nebojsa Stefanovic, told Kosova Online that Kosova Online did not expect any personnel solutions that would make a fundamental change in the policy followed by Pristina's institutions.
As Stefanovic told Kosova Online, “everything they have shown in the past years, and especially in the last twelve months, shows that they do not think well, especially for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, but also for the stability and security of the entire region.”
"Unfortunately, it is a warning that Serbs are in danger and that the senseless, dangerous and adventurous actions with weapons in recent months threaten to destabilize the entire Balkans, towards Serbs, but it seems to me also towards the lives of all people living in the territory of our southern province," Stefanović said.

In addition to Stefanović, another Serbian official, Milovan Drecun, also reacted to the new KSF commander, who also, without arguing with any facts, declared that the new KSF commander is ready for anything against the Serbian people.
"In Bashkim Jashari they found a person, a criminal who will be willing to do everything he can against the Serbian people and use the maximum capacities of the KSF to complete the ethnic cleansing of Serbs and as such poses a threat to the safety and security and survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," said Drecun.
Drecun added that the new KSF commander has already been the object of interest of KFOR and UNMIK and is in the "White Book" of organized crime, which KFOR has published for internal needs.
"It can be assumed that Bashkim Jashari will be ready to carry out such orders, to use KSF equipment or personnel for actions in the north without the approval of the KFOR commander," said Drecun.
He also stated that Bashkim Jashari is a member of one of the strongest criminal clans in Kosovo.

Analyze:
Serbian officials, Nebojsa Stefanovic and Milovan Drecun, have made statements not based on any facts about the new KSF commander, Bashkim Jashari, claiming that he will only be a continuation of hostility towards Serbs and a new threat to the region, as well as a member of one of the strongest criminal clans in Kosovo.
Also, Drecun claims without any facts that Jashari will be willing to use KSF equipment or personnel for actions in the north without the approval of the KFOR commander.
After fact-checking analysis based on the work methodology, hibrid.info has assessed these statements as "conspiracy theories", as they present a series of claims, presented as facts, between which cause-and-effect relationships are established, without providing any credible evidence.
Reasoning:
"Conspiracy theories" are media reports that disseminate a false or unverifiable description of a phenomenon, event, or person, presenting it as part of or the result of a secret plan ("conspiracy"). A characteristic of these reports is that they present a series of claims, presented as facts, between which cause-effect relationships are established, without providing any credible evidence.
