The October news about the allocation of 100 euros to pensioners is presented as current

FATBARDH DEMA

Suspicious portals on January 1 published an article titled "Latest News/Government allocates 100 euros for this category...".

In the content of this article it is written "The Kosovo government, led by Albin Kurti, during today's government meeting proposed to allocate 100 euros to pensioners as part of pensioner support."

After fact-checking by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that this article is old. The news about the allocation of allowances for pensioners dates back to October 12, 2022, when the Government of Kosovo had decided to allocate an additional 100 euros to pensioners.

So, dubious portals have tried to present the government's October decision as current.

This article, published on January 1 by these dubious portals, was also shared on Facebook by the pages "Express Newspaper”And“Vision.al".

After research conducted through online search engines, hibrid.info found this article published in real time (October 12, 2022) by several online media in Kosovo. (see here and here)

To further prove this fact, hibrid.info has found the decisions of the Government of Kosovo at its 100th meeting held on October 12, 2022.

At the October meeting, it was announced that in that month pensioners would receive a one-time supplement of 100 euros. (see here)

Analyze:

Suspicious portals have published an old news item from October 2022, which contains the proposal of the Government of Kosovo, which at the time had proposed the allocation of 100 euros to pensioners as part of the Inflation Response Package.

These portals published this old news on January 1, 2023, claiming to present it as current.

Based on the working methodology, hibrid.info evaluates this article as "Clickbait".

Reasoning:

The “Clickbait” rating is given to texts whose titles have no basis in the content of the following text. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the reader or even the consumer with a sensational title by promising content that does not actually exist and are created mainly out of financial interest, that is, due to increased readability. So, this type of text is intended only to click, which can be converted into a profit for the content producer.
