The claim of gunfire in north Mitrovica is not substantiated

FATBARDH DEMA

The information portal "Jepize.com" on its official Facebook page named "Jepi zë" today (June 13) published a video material with views showing a part of northern Mitrovica from above.

In this video, the alarm is heard in northern Mitrovica, as well as a crack in the last seconds of this material, and this page claims that there are arrests and gunfire.

The alarm heard in this material was issued today, due to the arrest of the Serb, Milun Milenković-Llune, one of the leaders of the criminal formation "Civil Protection" by the Kosovo Police, who, according to the Minister of Interior Xhelal Sveçla, is one of the organizers of the attacks on KFOR members. However, the claim in the video caption that gunfire occurred in the north, apart from a single audible explosion, is not supported by any additional footage or facts. It is also not known where the explosion came from. Therefore, no evidence is provided that suggests that a gunshot or other element caused the explosion.

Hibrid.info has not found any other media article reporting gunfire today (June 13) in north Mitrovica.

The Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, through his official Facebook account, in the announcement of the arrest of Milun Milenkovic, announced that during this action, Kosovo Police officers were attacked, in which case three of them were slightly injured, without specifying how they were attacked. Analyze:

The Facebook page "Jepi zje" has published a video claiming that arrests are taking place in northern Mitrovica and gunfire can be heard.

In this video material, a crack is heard, which does not support the claim made by the aforementioned website, as there are no images or other facts that argue that there were gunshots in north Mitrovica.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this claim as "Unverified Content".

Reasoning:

The “Unverified” rating is given to those media reports that do not provide sufficient information to confirm the claims made in the report, and which have not been able to confirm the same due to the lack or non-possession of reliable sources.
