Through one posting On the social media Telegram, it is claimed that the person who was arrested today (May 15) on suspicion of war crimes in the municipality of Zveçan is a former member of the Kosovo Police (KP).
This claim was published by the Serbian-language channel on Telegram "BUNKER"(BUNKER).
The truth?
After verification of the facts by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that this claim is false. The arrested person is not a former member of the KP.
Hibrid.info found the announcement published by the Special Prosecution on its official Facebook page. Through this post, it is announced that a person of Serbian nationality has been arrested, suspected of committing war crimes in the municipality of Zveçan, in northern Kosovo.
The Special Prosecution Office has said that he is suspected of having participated in the killings, deportations, looting, torture, and beatings of Albanian civilians in his capacity as commander of the Police unit in the Zvecan region, within the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), during 1998/99. This announcement does not mention that "The arrested person is a former member of the KP", as claimed by the Serbian-language channel on Telegram.
