It was published a post with the claim that the price of bread in Kosovo has increased to 70 cents.

This claim was published on Monday (September 22) on Facebook by the page “New Kosovo".

The truth?

After conducting online research, hibrid.info confirmed that the claim is incorrect. The photo in question was taken from a previously published video, in April 2025, taken inside a bakery in Gjakova.

Hibrid.info has searched Google with the keywords "Bread prices are rising in Kosovo", and the results show that in recent months there have been no credible media reports regarding this issue. (see here)

After verifying the photo appearing in the above-mentioned post, it was found that it was taken from a video from April, produced by TV Syri Vizion. In this video material, it was reported about the increase in the price of bread in Gjakova. (see here)

Analyze:

A Facebook post from the page “Kosova e Re” claimed that the price of bread in Kosovo has increased to 70 cents. After verification, hibrid.info found that this claim is incorrect.

The photo used was taken from an April 2025 video by TV Syri Vizion, which reported on the increase in the price of bread only in Gjakova, while there are no credible media reports of such an increase at the national level.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this claim as "Disinformation".

Reasoning:

"Disinformation" is defined as information content that contains a "mix" of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful attributes, and that is created and/or distributed with the deliberate intention of causing harm. The motive behind the producers/distributors of disinformation content lies in achieving a political, financial, psychological or social goal.
