Several Facebook pages have published an image today (March 29) with the caption "Serious, parents beat 10-month-old baby for crying / watch the full video in the first comment".
Attached to the image in the comment is a link to the article that reported the event, published by a dubious portal named "new.focuslajme.mk".
After fact-checking by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the article in question does not contain a video, as warned in the caption of the photo published by the Facebook pages that reported the event.
A large number of Facebook pages have distributed information in the above-mentioned way (here).
Links to some of the pages that published the image on Facebook:
Hibrid.info has verified the article (here) attached to the comments section of the image published by the pages in question and has confirmed the content, which reports on an event that occurred in Great Britain, also confirmed by several English-language media (see here, here and here).
But, after fact-checking by hibrid.info, it was found that the article of the dubious portal, "new.focuslajme.mk", does not contain a video, as claimed in the caption of the photo published by the above-mentioned pages on Facebook.
Also, after researching using the search engine, "Google", hibrid.info did not find any footage of the moments of the event or even after it occurred (see here).
Analyze:
Several Facebook pages have published an article reporting on the murder of a baby by parents in the UK, claiming that the same article also contains a video.
However, after verification by hibrid.info, it was found that there is no video within the text of the news. Also, from further research, no video was found during and after the moment of the 10-month-old baby's death.
Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this content as "Disinformation".
Rating:
"Disinformation" is defined as information content that contains a "mix" of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful attributes, and that is created and/or distributed with the deliberate intention of causing harm.
