A content is published with the caption claiming that Bekim Jashari, the son of the hero Hamëz Jashari, is supporting the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) in the early elections of June 7.
This claim was published on Thursday (May 28) by pages with the names "INFOX”And“research", through an image where the former mayor of Skenderaj is seen sitting next to Bedri Hamza, the chairman of PDK.
What is the truth?
Jashari has not expressed public support for any of the political entities in Kosovo before the early elections.
Up until the moment of treatment, these contents with the claim have received over 900 likes and over 80 comments in total, from the content of some of which it can be assessed that there is a possibility that the claim is perceived as credible by the audience of this page.
To verify the claim, hibrid.info checked Jashari's Facebook account. The last post on this account was made on May 27. In the latest posts since the announcement of the decision for early elections, there has been no such post in which Jashari expresses public support for any of the political parties in the country (see here).
Hibrid.info continued its investigation by searching the Google search engine. After searching with the keywords “bekim jashari”, the results for the last seven days’ publications showed content reporting that Jashari was present at the memorial academy on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the birth of the hero Fehmi Lladrovci and the 70th anniversary of the heroine Xhevë Lladrovci (see here).
From some of the visual content of this event, it was confirmed that at this event, Jashari was sitting next to PDK leader Bedri Hamza (see here and here).
This indicates that the photograph used to present the claim being addressed has been detached from the recording of this activity.
Verification on Google followed up with a direct search for the claim. However, the search results did not show any sources confirming it (see here).
The claim has not been confirmed by PDK either. Research on the Facebook pages of this political entity and that of its chairman Hamza has not found any content that would prove that Jashari is in support of the largest opposition party (see here and here).
