U published an image where the candidate for prime minister from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, is seen and behind him the offices of the Serbian List in Leposavic.

Through this post, it is claimed that Kurti visited the Serbian List in North Mitrovica to coordinate with this political entity on the formation of a government.

The post was found published on February 12 on Facebook by the page "Prishtina".

The truth?

After checking the facts, it was found that the image was taken from an old video (January 16) and the claim is false.

After research conducted by hibrid.info through the automated program “InVID”, hibrid.info has managed to find the authentic video published on the Kosovanews.net portal page on Facebook on January 17. (see here)

In the description of this video, it is explained that the footage was shot in January, when Kurti, during his visit to Leposavic, passed by the offices of the Serbian List during his visit to the Interex market point in this municipality.

Kurti on January 16th had posted a photo on his official Facebook account with the description "For breakfast expenses at INTEREX in Leposavic."

The "INTEREX" supermarket chain opened its store in Leposavic on October 9, 2024. (here)

Analyze:

Through a photograph, it was claimed that Kurti went to the offices of the Serbian List to coordinate with this political entity to form the government.

After verifying the facts, it was confirmed that the claim is false. The image was taken from an old video taken on January 16 when Kurti visited the Interex market in Leposavic, which opened last year.

Kurti, in the authentic video as he goes to the Interex market, is seen passing by the offices of the Serbian List.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses the post made on Facebook by the "Prishtina" page as "Manipulation of facts" and "Disinformation".

Reasoning:

“Factual manipulation” is a rating given to informational content that uses facts known to be accurate but interprets them in a distorted manner. These reports typically use accurate information to draw incorrect conclusions or claims, thereby misleading consumers of media content about the actual meaning of the facts presented.

"Disinformation" is defined as information content that contains a "mix" of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful attributes, and that is created and/or distributed with the deliberate intention of causing harm. The motive behind the producers/distributors of disinformation content lies in achieving a political, financial, psychological or social goal.
