Video of Iran's missile attacks on Tel Aviv generated with AI

A video has been released showing an urban area with buildings, while projectile traces and smoke from an explosion in the city are visible in the sky.

The content was found posted on Facebook on Tuesday (March 3) on pages with the names “InfoShqip.com”And“in7.tv", with the caption claiming that it is about the moment of a missile attack from Iran on Tel Aviv, the Israeli city.

What is the truth?

Hibrid.info found that this content is generated with artificial intelligence (AI).

The content published by "in7.tv" has over 1 thousand likes, while that of "Infoshqip.com" has over 200 likes.

After researching using the Google search engine, hibrid.info has found content from credible international media, confirming that Iran has attacked the city of Tel Aviv with ballistic missiles (see here and here).

However, since the video contains scenes that do not appear completely natural, hibrid.info has verified whether it could be generated with AI.

After verifying these two videos using "HiveModeration.com", the platform for analyzing content created by AI, it turns out that the "Infoshqip" video was likely created by this technology.

Meanwhile, verification of the "in7.tv" video, which shows closer views of the same explosion seen in the "InfoShqip.com" video, does not show results that confirm that the video was likely created with AI.

However, hibrid.info has found an article addressing this content, published by “Teyit.org”, a fact-checking organization based in Turkey. The treatment assessed that this content is generated by AI (see here).

The search for articles where this content may have been addressed was done because, through the automated search program “InVID”, it was found that this content was initially published by publishers in foreign languages, and then published as a claim in the Albanian language (see here).

The article mentions that the video purporting to show a rocket fired at Tel Aviv turns out to have clear signs of manipulation, such as unstable missile tracks, deformed vehicles, and monotonous sounds.

The text also referred to the "HiveModeration" platform for rating.

Meanwhile, "Teyit.org" has found that this video was initially published on March 2 by the Instagram account named "parallelverse_net", which also explains that the content was created with AI (see here).

Analyze:

The video released claiming to show a missile attack from Iran on Tel Aviv turns out to be unauthentic.

Although the attacks on this city have been reported by international media, verifications show that the footage shared in this video is generated with artificial intelligence.

This conclusion came after analysis through the "HiveModeration" platform and treatment by the fact-checking platform "Teyit.org".

Therefore, based on the working methodology, hibrid.info assesses the content as "Fraud".

Reasoning:

The “Deception” rating is given to informational content that is manipulated in terms of visual (deepfake, cheapfake), audio, or textual content to deceive the audience. This form of deception is usually used to produce false and manipulated content.
