OUR VERDICT

FAKE NEWS

The image representing the claim is generated by artificial intelligence.

An image has been published showing Albin Kurti, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, with the appearance and caption indicating that he has participated in youth protests in Albania.

This content was published on Friday (October 16) on TikTok by the account named "TRONEX" and is presented as an imitation of the "Klan" television reporting.

But what is the truth?

The image representing the claim is generated by artificial intelligence.

As of the time of writing, the content in question has received over 65 views, more than 2,700 likes, and over 300 comments. From the content of most of the comments, it can be assessed that the audience is likely to perceive this content as credible.

The image was verified through the online tool “Google Lens.” The results did not show any images or reports that would confirm that Prime Minister Kurti was participating in the protests in Tirana (see here).

Then, because the image bears the logo of Klan television, hibrid.info checked the Facebook page and the official channel of this medium. Of the publications, none were found that would confirm the claim in question (see here and here).

The investigation also continued on Kurti's Facebook page. From the posts on this page, it is not proven that Kurti was present at these protests (see here).

The claim was directly verified through the Google search engine with the words "albin kurti in protest" (see here). Apart from articles presenting different opinions where it is estimated that Prime Minister Kurti may be behind the anti-government protests in Albania, no articles were found reporting that the Prime Minister of Kosovo was in these organizations.

Because none of these confirmations found evidence to support the claim, hibrid.info analyzed the image through "HiveModeration", an online tool that assesses whether audiovisual content is generated by artificial intelligence.

The results of the analysis showed a high probability that the image was generated by this technology.

Analyze

The image depicts Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, in a view that mimics the reporting of "Klan" television, creating the impression that he has participated in youth protests in Albania.

However, searches through "Google Lens" and "Google", as well as checking publications on the official channels of "Klan" television and Albin Kurti, have not found evidence to support the claim.

Meanwhile, analysis through the "HiveModeration" tool has shown a high possibility that the image was generated by artificial intelligence.

Therefore, based on its work methodology, Hibrid.info assesses this content as "Fake News".

rationale

The “Fake News” rating is given to informational content that is entirely fabricated or that contains factually incorrect claims or information. Content that is rated as fake news can be defined as having been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.
