Through an article published yesterday (September 25), it is claimed that several different Kosovo Police trainings that were conducted until recently in cooperation with the American Embassy have been canceled.

The article was published by the portal "dukagjini.com" (see here archived article), adding that this is what the television (Dukagjini) learned from sources close to these developments.

However, in a response to the KlanKosova.tv portal, the American Embassy in Kosovo denied this claim, saying that there is no such decision.

The article published on "dukagjini.com" mentions the statement issued on August 30 by the US Embassy in Pristina. "The Government's actions will also affect the quality and nature of our cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinate elements", it was said in the press release issued after the Kosovo Police Operations in the northern municipalities. (see here)

As of the time of publication of the article published by "dukagjini.com", it is said that the US Embassy has not responded to the question of whether it has terminated cooperation with the Police, while neither the Police nor the Ministry of Internal Affairs have confirmed or denied the claim about the non-inclusion of police officers in the training.

On the other hand, today (September 26) “KlanKosova.tv” has received a response from the American Embassy in Kosovo regarding this issue. The Kosovo Police has also reacted through a statement published on their Facebook page.

Excerpt from the article by "klankosova.tv"

The Embassy's communications office referred to a statement made on August 30, which stated: "The Government's actions will also affect the quality and nature of our cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinates."

Following this statement, the Embassy also said that they are monitoring developments, but that there has been no decision to cancel the training at this time.

"We are continuing to review this matter, and have not made any decisions at this time," the US Embassy told Klankosova.tv. (see here)

In addition to the denial from the US Embassy, today (September 26) the Kosovo Police also reacted through their official Facebook page, denying the cancellation of the trainings with the US Embassy in Kosovo. (see here)

Excerpt from the post published on the official Kosovo Police Facebook page:

Within the framework of the Strategic Development Plan 2021-2025, one of the envisaged objectives is to increase human resource capacities, through the implementation of various trainings within and outside the institution, including trainings provided by various local and international partners, including key strategic partners such as the United States of America.

The Kosovo Police, since its establishment until today, has conducted trainings of various levels, in cooperation with its partners inside and outside Kosovo, trainings which have not been interrupted at any time, and which continue to be conducted further.

Analyze:

The claim that several different Kosovo Police trainings, which have so far been conducted in cooperation with the US Embassy in Kosovo, have been canceled, is untrue.

The US Embassy, in a response to "klankosova.tv", denied this, saying that "We are continuing to review this matter, and have not made any decisions at this time."

Also, the Kosovo Police denied the cancellation of the trainings with the US Embassy, saying that they have not been interrupted at any time and that they continue to be implemented.

Based on the working methodology, hibrid.info assesses the claim published by "dukagjini.com" as "Unverified Content".

Reasoning:

The "Unverified" rating is given to those informative contents that do not provide sufficient information to confirm the claims made in the report, and which could not be verified due to certain circumstances (speed, lack of sources) during the publication of the content.
