Unfounded claim of Haradinaj's connection to projects in Belgrade

OUR VERDICT

FAKE NEWS

Unfounded and artificial intelligence-generated content.

On the Serbian-language channel “Građanska Neposlušnost” (Civil Disobedience) in Telegram, a video has been published claiming that former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and his wife have taken on a project related to the international exhibition "EXPO 2027" to be held in Serbia.

The content was published on July 15th and then also on TikTok from the account with the same name.

And the video was also published in the group "51% with Albin" on Facebook.

What's wrong with the publication?

The video purports to show former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, his wife Anita, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in work uniforms. However, the content appears to have been generated using artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, no facts have been presented linking Haradinaj's name to the international exhibition EXPO 2027, which will be held in Belgrade.

According to the claim, the work of preparing the infrastructure in Belgrade's Surčin "was given to a company, behind which Anita Haradinaj, the wife of former KLA leader Ramush Haradinaj, is directly responsible." According to the video, "both are the founders."

It is mentioned there that "this was made possible by lex specialis", which is a legal framework designed to avoid public procurement in order to meet the deadlines for the international exhibition.

The publication refers to Haradinaj as the former leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) as a narrative of "betrayal by Vučić."

The video claims that "Vučiqi and Ramush Haradinaj are dividing the billions."

However, the publication does not mention any specific company that is said to have won the project and is Haradinaj's company. It includes a photo from Haradinaj's asset declaration for 2018. 2021. In this declaration, a joint company with his wife was mentioned. The same company was also mentioned in the declaration made this year (see here).

While there are contracts reportedly awarded to companies for EXPO 2027 without traditional public tenders, it is difficult to find a list of all the winning companies. However, there have been no credible reports of Haradinaj being linked to anything like this. A Google search for “Ramush Haradinaj EXPO 2027” does not lead to such articles.

Hibrid.info has verified the first part of the video on the platform for detecting content generated with artificial intelligence "Hivemoderation". It turned out that video, but also audio, resulted in a high degree of possibility of generation with AI.

Analyze:

A video published on the Serbian channel "Građanska Neposlušnost" on Telegram, later shared on TikTok on the account of the same name, but also in the Albanian group "51% me Albinin" on Facebook, claims that Ramush Haradinaj and his wife Anita are involved in a project related to EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.

Verification shows that the claim is unfounded.

The video and audio were generated with artificial intelligence, while no evidence is presented that Haradinaj or his wife are related to any contract for EXPO 2027.

Although there have been reports in Serbia of awarding contracts for the project without regular procurement procedures, there are no credible reports linking Haradinaj to these projects.

The mention of a company declared in Haradinaj's asset forms does not prove involvement in EXPO 2027.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this content as "Fake News".
