Media and information literacy (MIL) encompasses a set of skills necessary for every citizen to interact with media and information, accepting information with a critical attitude and so on, contributing to this space in a responsible and ethical manner. Also, all this interaction, facilitated by media literacy, contributes to a democratic society free from hate speech, discrimination and other negative phenomena.
