Content has been published presenting statements allegedly made by Daniel Serwer, a professor at Johns Hopkins University.
A piece of content published on Sunday (March 8) on the Facebook page named "Lipjani.com" has the caption claiming that he has declared "First Thaçi, then SHIK, then Agim Veliu, then Grenell, then Lushtaku, then Edi Rama, then journalists – VV always finds someone to blame to cover up its failures. This is a massive mockery of the citizens of Kosovo."
Meanwhile, in other content also published on Sunday on Facebook, on the page named "Gazeta Minuti", it is claimed that he made a statement stating that "Kurti is a determined leader who seeks to build stronger institutions and the rule of law in Kosovo."
What's wrong with the claims?
Hibrid.info has not found credible sources that confirm Serwer's alleged statements.

Hibrid.info researched using the search engine “Google”, searching for the words of the alleged statements. In none of the searches, the results showed sources that could confirm them (see here and here).
Further, hibrid.info has generalized the search even further via “Google”, searching for the words “daniel serwer albin kurti” and “daniel serwer dhružja vetvevendosje”. The search results have shown articles published by credible sources, where Serwer’s different positions on Kurti and the Vetvevendosje Movement are reported, but none of them match the alleged statements (see here and here).
The “peacefare.net” platform is the blog where analytical articles of the Serwer are published (see here). No articles have been found on this website that would substantiate the statements said to have been made by Serwer.
Analyze:
Content has been circulating on social media platforms Facebook that presents statements allegedly made by Daniel Serwer, a professor at Johns Hopkins University.
After verifying the facts, no evidence was found that these statements were made or published in credible media or verifiable sources.
Google searches for parts of the alleged statements have not revealed any credible media reports confirming that they were made by Serwer. Nor have such statements been found on his blog, “Peacefare.”
Therefore, based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses the content as "Fake News".
rationale
The “Fake News” rating is given to informational content that is entirely fabricated or that contains factually incorrect claims or information. Content that is rated as fake news can be defined as having been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.
