The Imam is not Albanian and women are not abused in the name of God.

HIBRID

The dubious portal with content in the Albanian language "Portalimomenti.com" published yesterday (September 28) an article titled "Albanian Imam manipulates in the name of GOD, abuses women affected by "Sihri" (View from the patient's cell phone)".

After verifying the facts, hibrid.info has confirmed that this article is completely fabricated, as the imam is not Albanian, but originally from Kurdistan.

During research conducted through the automated online fact-checking program "InVID", hibrid.info managed to find the article published in the British media outlet "Express.co.uk" on February 2, 2018.

This article states that a British imam of Kurdish origin named Ayoub Tayeb allowed cameras to enter to film him performing a ritual on an unmarried woman at a mosque in Sheffield, Yorkshire.

So, the imam is not Albanian and the footage was not taken from the patient's cell phone, as falsely claimed in the title of this article published by the dubious portal "Portalimomenti.com".

This fabricated article was shared on Facebook by the pages "Active Newspaper","SO Son”And“Press point".

After research conducted through online search engines, hibrid.info has managed to find the authentic article published in the British online medium "Express.co.uk". (see here)

The content of the article published on the dubious portal "Portalimomenti.com" appears to contain a comment made about the Albanian folk doctor, Nazmi Mulaku, known by the nickname "Bio Mulaku".

"Look at this church girl healing these women after they were attacked by jinn. God condemns Bio Mulaku. Be careful not to give 400 euros for nothing and you could enter haram. #share so more people can see it and not go to this devil.", writes in the content of this article.

From the research conducted, hibrid.info has managed to find Mulaku's Facebook profile, which claims to cure several diseases. (see here)

Analyze:

The dubious portal "Portalimomenti.com" has published a photograph of an imam taken from a video, falsely claiming that he is an Albanian imam who abuses women.

After research conducted through online search engines, hibrid.info has proven that this claim of this dubious portal is false.

The imam operates in the UK and is originally from Kurdistan, while the image was taken from a video published in the British media outlet "Express.co.uk".

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this article as "Fake News".

Reasoning:

The "Fake News" rating is given to media reports that are entirely the product of a medium that itself contains factually incorrect claims or information.

Content that is considered fake news can be reliably determined to have been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.
