FAKE NEWS
- The "KORIDOR" channel, through a post dated January 15 of this year, claimed that the Americans and their services manipulated the Racak massacre on January 15, 1999. (here)
This content states that the Americans killed innocent victims in nearby villages and dragged them to Recak, as an excuse, as it is said, to "kill Serbia."
Hibrid.info has found that all these claims have been denied with clear facts and arguments from credible international organizations, that the Recak massacre was carried out by Serbian forces.
- The same channel, on February 11, published content through which it claimed that "In Jarinje, currently FIT forces, 7 armored vehicles in which they are mounting Brownings weapons, drones have been set up, KFOR is present." (here)
After research conducted by hibrid.info, no information published by official sources or credible media regarding the above-mentioned claim was found.
Also, this claim made by the Serbian-language account does not provide any facts to support it.
CONSPIRACY THEORY
- Through a Telegram post from the Serbian-language channel "BUNKER" dated February 21, it is claimed that the perpetrators of the robbery of a church in Cërnica, Gjilan, are Albanians, who have taken items worth around 900 euros. (here)
After research conducted online by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that the perpetrators of this crime are unknown.
- The Serbian-language channel "KORIDOR" published a piece of content whose caption states that "In Zubin Potok, Albanian terrorists in civilian clothes are driving Golf 5 and 6 cars and placing buggies under the cars."
Hibrid.info has found that this claim is not based on facts and has not been reported by either credible media or the Kosovo Police.
- The channels "BUNKER" and "Srpska Sparta-Info" have published a claim that "A masked Albanian last night at around 18:00 PM removed and took the tricolor (Serbian flag) of the Serbian Orthodox Church from the gate of the church in Lipjan." (here)
After verification of the facts conducted by hibrid.info, it was determined that the claim is unfounded, and that it is unknown to which ethnicity the person suspected of committing this crime belongs.
- "BUNKER", through a post published on December 13, claims that "Albanians knocked down and destroyed two tombstones in the new Orthodox cemetery in Plemetin, near Obiliq." (here)
This post does not provide any facts that would support the claim that the perpetrators of this crime were Albanians.
Kosovo Police announced on December 16 that six people suspected of damaging cemeteries or corpses had been arrested, but the official announcement did not mention the ethnicity of the suspects.
- The Serbian-language Telegram channels "Srpski Inat" and "KORIDOR", through a post published on Monday (December 22), claimed that "Currently, in the Kosovo Police, Albanian terrorist inspectors are visiting Serbian pharmacies. We unofficially learn that they have been given a deadline to close the pharmacies." (here)
After conducting online research, hibrid.info has confirmed that such a claim has not been found published in any media or credible source.
disinformation
- The “KORIDOR” channel on March 27 published content through which it claimed that the citizen of Serbian nationality, injured during an attempted armed robbery in the outdoor areas of the “Albi Mall” Shopping Center in Veternik on March 17, did not lose his life as a result of the injuries he suffered, but was killed by Albanian doctors in the hospital. (here)
After verifying the facts, it was confirmed that on March 26, the media reported that the suspect in the attempted robbery, who was injured on the morning of March 17 in Veternik, had died at the Clinical and University Center of Kosovo (QKUK). His death was confirmed by the head of the Intensive Care Unit, Shaqir Uka.
- “BUNKER” on March 6 published a claim that Kosovo authorities had arrested minor children without any reason and without informing their parents. (here)
According to hibrid.info and the Serbian media outlet “Kossev.info”, six minors (initially reported as four Serbs and two Albanians) were arrested in North Mitrovica due to a conflict between them. Later, the Kosovo Police clarified that only one Bosniak and two Albanians remained at the station, while three Serbs were released. The case was described as “light bodily injury”.
- “BUNKER” claimed on May 15 that the person who was arrested that day on suspicion of war crimes in the municipality of Zveçan is a former member of the Kosovo Police (KP).
After verification of the facts by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that this claim is false. The arrested person is not a former member of the KP.
- The Serbian-language channels “KORIDOR” and “BUNKER” on Telegram claim that on December 14, 1998, six young Serbs were killed in an attack on the “Panda” cafe in Peja by “Albanian terrorists.” (here)
This claim was made at the time by Serbian leaders, including Milosevic, but no evidence has ever been provided to support such a claim. In fact, after the war, the current president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has on two separate occasions denied that the perpetrators of this attack were Albanians.
MANIPULATIONS OF FACTS
- "KORIDOR" published a post on September 1 claiming that the Kosovo Police (KP) stopped a bus transporting children to school and in that case took two minors out, who were stopped by the police on the grounds that they were wearing T-shirts with the symbols of the Belgrade football club "Cërvena Zvezda" (Red Star) and the group of fans of this team "Delije". (here)
After conducting online research, hibrid.info confirmed that the content published on Telegram was manipulated. In reality, the minors were wearing T-shirts of fans of the club "Red Star", but with offensive inscriptions.
- “KORIDOR” on August 21 published a content claiming that on Saturday (August 20), at around 22:15 in Zubin Potok, Kosovo Police stopped a civilian vehicle on the highway, removed a Serb from the car and, in front of passers-by, used force against him by knocking him to the ground, insulting him, tying him up and then arresting him. According to the published content, the arrested man suffered minor head injuries, while the reason for this attack by the police officers is still unknown.
After verification of the facts carried out by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that the claim made by the aforementioned channel is not correct. In the 24-hour report issued by the Kosovo Police, it was reported regarding this case. Based on this report, the suspect obstructed police officers when they were issuing a traffic fine and suffered bodily injuries after resisting arrest.
UNVERIFIED CONTENTS
- The "BUNKER" channel, through a post published on February 25, claims that "Albanian terrorists last night in KeM arrested six young Serbs for no reason, using force." (here)
