Kurti has not stated that Greece will recognize Kosovo

HIBRID

The dubious portal "postlajme.net" has published an article claiming that Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has said that Greece will recognize Kosovo.

After fact-checking conducted by hibrid.info, it turns out that the title of this article does not match the content in the text.

Kurti was received in a meeting by the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in Athens yesterday (July 8). During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti had requested that the Greek state join the bloc of countries that have recognized Kosovo.

But, despite this, Kurti has not held any press conferences nor has he said that Greece will recognize Kosovo, as claimed in the title of the article published on "postlajme.net".

Excerpt from the text of the article published on "postlajme.net":

As stated in the press release, Prime Minister Kurti said that Greece and Kosovo should strengthen their independent relations due to their long shared history, the common goal of peace and security in the Balkans, and their long shared future.

He was thanked for the support and constructive stance towards the country of Kosovo, which Greece has demonstrated especially in recent months, with the support given in favor of visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens and the commitment to Kosovo's membership in international organizations.

Kurti demanded that Greece join the bloc of countries that have recognized Kosovo.
