The title of an article claims to increase allowances and pensions in Kosovo.

"Increases in allowances and pensions, Kurti also talks about the 13th salary", The article published in "is entitledfrontlajm.net” on Monday (February 16, 2026).

The same title was also published via an image on the Facebook page named "FrontNews".

The truth?

Unlike the title that leaves room for misinterpretations, the content says something else. The content has extracted part of a statement by Prime Minister Albin Kurti during the Assembly session and is not about a new decision regarding the increase in allowances or pensions. The statement was given in the session where the first review of the Draft Law on Budget Allocations for the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo for 2026 was taking place.

According to the content, Kurti stated in the session that "The 2026 budget includes increases in pensions, child allowances, maternity allowances, payments for young people and women who work from home.to ".

As of the moment the content was published (12:37), the Assembly has not approved this draft law. The draft law was approved in the afternoon (see here).

To enter into force, this draft law must also be approved in a second reading (see here).

What did Kurti say about pensions and allowances in this session?

During the discussions, Kurti said that the campaign pledges were included in the presentation at the session for the re-election of the Prime Minister, and that before this draft law is approved in second reading, the new Government's program must be presented to the Assembly.

"The 2026 budget also includes an increase in pensions, child allowances, maternity allowances, payments for young people and women engaged in Superpuna. Completion of the social assistance reform, and many, many other supports for families. Our goal comes from our orientation. Let's not keep the growth for the state but distribute it in society", Kurti said in his speech.

So, he spoke within the framework of his campaign promises.

Likewise, the Government has not made any decisions during the day regarding increases in allowances and pensions.

The last time pensions were increased was on October 31, 2025. On that day, the incumbent Government approved the increase in basic pensions and child allowances starting in November 2025. Basic pensions increased from 120 euros to 150, while child allowances increased from 20 euros to 30 euros for families with one or two children and from 30 to 45 for those with three or more children (see here).

The Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), led by Albin Kurti, in its election campaign for the December 28 elections, has mentioned the issue of allowances and pensions in its election program. While the doubling of child allowances is mentioned, no specific value is given for pensions (see here).

As of the time of writing, the Facebook post has received more than 90 comments. Some of the comments gave the impression that they perceived the title as a new decision by Kosovo institutions.

Based on the article, hibrid.info has found that its content is the same as the publication on “klankosova.tv”. However, “klankosova.tv” has published the content but with the title: “Pensions, allowances, 13th salary, Kurti: We do not keep economic growth in the state, but distribute it".

Analyze:

Title "Increase in allowances and pensions, Kurti also talks about the 13th salary"has left room for misinterpretation, as if it is a new decision to increase allowances and pensions in Kosovo.

However, the content of the article indicates that it concerns statements made by Prime Minister Albin Kurti during discussions in the session on the 2026 Draft Budget.

Without approval of the draft law and without a new decision by the Government, the claim for an increase is unfounded and creates a false perception among readers.

Based on the work methodology, hibrid.info evaluates the title and the publication on Facebook as "Clickbait".

Reasoning:

“Clickbait” is considered to be informational content whose title is general and does not disclose the location of the event, context and relevance. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the audience with sensational headlines with misleading consequences, which do not accurately clarify the content of the article. “Clickbait” headlines are mainly made to attract readability in the case of media publications and/or to earn from clicks in the case of commercial publications.
