Some dubious portals have published an article titled "Kosovars will pay more for car registration from September 1st, this is the amount."
Hibrid.info, after conducting a fact check, has confirmed that this article contains a false headline, and that the news is old, published on July 14 of this year.
The news concerns the decision of the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, where citizens were obliged to be provided with stickers after registering their vehicles, for easier identification of vehicles that have undergone technical inspection, and these stickers would cost drivers 5 euros.
However, this decision has now been suspended, following media reports (here) which claimed that irregularities had been identified in the tendering process in this ministry. However, the decision to suspend by the authorities of this ministry was justified as having happened “to save citizens”. (suspension of the decision here)
So, drivers in Kosovo will not pay more for vehicle registration starting in September, as falsely claimed in the title of the article published on several dubious portals.
