Misleading publication about "Abdixhiku-Hoti clash"

A video has been posted on Facebook with the caption that it provides details about an alleged clash between the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, and a member of the party's Presidency, Avdullah Hoti.

Publishing the page "click.info" on Facebook in two days has generated more than half a million views, over 700 reactions and more than 410 comments.

Why is this content being addressed?

In two cases, the page wrote that the details of this claim are in the comments. Based on the number of comments and reactions, it can be assessed that people have taken for granted the title that a clash can be seen or even the call that the details are in the comments. But the video does not present any possible clash, nor has the page in question commented to inform or publish any links leading to reporting on the claim in question. (See REVIEWS)

"BREAKING NEWS"

What is happening in LDK? – Abdixhiku – Hoti clash? Details in the comments” is the caption of the video in which Avdullah Hoti is seen.

"This was not expected - Details in the comments" is the video description.

Based on the comments on the video, it can be understood that the content has sparked discussions among users and the title has been taken for granted for "clashes in LDK".

Hibrid.info has also verified other content published by this site that is related to the similar claim. On January 28, this site had published an image of the two apostrophized with the caption: “LATEST NEWS What is happening in LDK? – Abdixhiku reacts to Avdullah Hoti? The image was accompanied by the same description as the video: "This was not expected – Details in the comments”. Unlike the video post, the site has commented on this image with a link, which if clicked leads to an article on the website “clickokete.info".

Based on the footage included in the video material under review, hibrid.info has found that it was recorded on January 21, in front of the Memorial Academy on the 20th anniversary of the death of President Ibrahim Rugova. There is no evidence of any clash with Abdixhiku. (See Post of the LDK which also shows Hoti wearing the same outfit as in the video)

Context and Hoti's assessment of Abdixhiku:

Avdullah Hoti days ago has announced his candidacy for chairman of the LDK.

At the LDK Assembly, invited for January 31, Abdzhiku has announced that he will offer his resignation. He said that the LDK Assembly should decide on his resignation.

Meanwhile, as the media reported, "reporters.net", in an interview for "T7", Hoti described Abdixhiku as an asset for the party.

Analyze:

For the claim of a clash between Lumir Abdixhiku and Avdullah Hoti, the Facebook page "Kliko.info" used an incorrect video and caption.

The video shows Hoti at the Ibrahim Rugova Memorial Academy and does not match the claim.

Also, the comments lack the "details" that the page calls for. Given that the content has received more than 500 clicks in two days, it can be concluded that the call for "details in the comment" has been taken for granted.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses the content as "Disinformation" and "Clickbait".

Reasoning:

"Disinformation" is defined as information content that contains a "mix" of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful attributes, and that is created and/or distributed with the deliberate intention of causing harm. The motive behind the producers/distributors of disinformation content lies in achieving a political, financial, psychological or social goal.

“Clickbait” is considered to be informational content whose title is general and does not disclose the location of the event, context and relevance. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the audience with sensational headlines with misleading consequences, which do not accurately clarify the content of the article. “Clickbait” headlines are mainly made to attract readability in the case of media publications and/or to earn from clicks in the case of commercial publications.
