It has been reported that all the candidates for mayor of the Municipality of Vushtrri, in the local elections of October 12, drank coffee together on Friday morning (October 12).
The article "gazetapolitika.com" also contains the published photo in which five candidates for mayor of this municipality are seen. "Vushtrri gives 'school' to Kosovo: All candidates drink coffee together before the campaign," is the title of the article.
But what is the truth?
The article contains a photo and article published by Ferit Idrizi, current chairman and candidate of the Democratic Party of Kosovo for another mandate. The photo shows four other candidates for mayor, but the Vetëvendosje Movement candidate for mayor of this municipality, Sylejman Meholli, is missing. Therefore, the claim that “all” of the candidates drink coffee together before the campaign is incorrect.

Initial content of the article:
Vushtrri gives "school" to Kosovo: All candidates drink coffee together before the campaign
On the eve of the official launch of the election campaign, the mayor of Vushtrri and candidate for a new mandate, Ferat Idrizi, met this morning with his opponents in a friendly cafe.
Idrizi has published a photo, saying that the campaign that is starting will be full of activities, but stressed that the priority remains conveying the message of citizenship and developing a fair competition.
"We are only a few hours away from the start of the campaign. This morning in Vushtrri we met amicably with the opposing candidates for coffee. A month full of activities awaits us, but for us the first task remains to convey the message of citizenship and conduct an honest campaign. Vushtrri is above any competition", he declared.
The photo shows candidates from VV, PDK, LDK, Nisma and AAK.
Based on the list of political entities and candidates certified by the Central Election Commission Six candidates are seeking the vote for mayor of Vushtrri. The candidates in the race are Mensut Ademi from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Sylejman Meholli from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Xhafer Tahiri from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Xhevahire Izmaku from the Social Democratic Initiative, Ferit Idrizi from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, and Shaban Miftari as an independent candidate.
And in the photo inside the article, from left: Miftari, Idrizi, Izmaku, Ademi and Tahiri. So Meholli is missing.
In one STATEMENT After the meeting, candidate Xhevahire Izmaku admitted that not all candidates were there for coffee. "We were all there, except for the representative of Vetëvendosje. I didn't feel good about not seeing him. I had wanted to convey this message in a unique way as the municipality of Vushtrri," she said.
Later, this portal corrected the last sentence by saying: "The photo shows the candidates of PDK, LDK, Nisma and AAK, while the VV candidate was missing." But the title remained the same, therefore incorrect.
An article with a title that implies that all the candidates for mayor of this municipality were at the meeting was also published by "gazetablic.com". But this media outlet did not mention the Vetëvendosje candidate in the text.
Otherwise it has been reported "news.net", which in the title said that "The VV environment boycotts the meeting!"
The election campaign period for certified political entities and their candidates begins on September 13, 2025 and ends on October 12, 2025, at 06:59 (before the opening of polling centers).
