Over the past week, monitoring of media and social networks has shown that the main form of information disorder has been the spread of hoaxes, fake news, and unverified content.
Last week, social media scams were spread through sponsored posts on Facebook, where the names and logos of well-known companies were misused. A page named “Amy Allen” published an advertisement offering fake employment on behalf of “Alibaba Group”, while another page, “Weekly Wow Promo”, distributed a fraudulent post using the logo of “Viva Fresh Store”, promising coupons worth 300 euros in exchange for users’ personal data. Research by hibrid.info has confirmed that both cases are scams and have no connection to the respective companies.
Last week, unverified content was published that created misinformation in the public. On May 31, on the X platform (formerly Twitter), the Albanian-speaking account “Brerore” published a photo of a tank accompanied by the claim that it belonged to the Albanian army during the “Europe Defender 2025” exercise. Verification by hibrid.info revealed that the photo was of a Russian tank and dated from 2015. Meanwhile, on June 2, on the “Rubikon” show on Klan Kosova, the claim was spread that the UN Coordinator in Kosovo had requested the cessation of official contacts with the Kurti Government. However, on June 3, through a reaction on Facebook, the UN team in Kosovo emphasized that cooperation with the Government remains stable, relativizing the claim made publicly, although it was not explicitly denied.
This week, fake news has also been circulating on the social media platform TikTok, making unfounded claims about military equipment for the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). On June 3, a video posted by the account “forca.kosovesfsk” claimed that Turkey was donating BMC ALTUG 8×8 military vehicles to Kosovo, a claim that turned out to be false. Also, on June 1, another video posted by the account “beslimkaj” featured a Stryker military vehicle in Canada, posing as part of the KSF. According to verification by hibrid.info, the vehicle is Canadian-made and is used by the US military, but is not part of the KSF’s inventory.
Another case of misinformation and fraud was published on May 31 by the “Kosova e Re” Facebook page, claiming that the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) will increase the price of electricity by 30% starting in October. This claim, shared on a page with over 48 thousand followers, has been verified by hibrid.info as false. Furthermore, the image used in this post was manipulated, adding elements that do not represent official statements from ERO.
Misinformation/Fraud
Through a post published on Saturday (May 31), it is alleged that the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has declared that energy will become 30% more expensive again from October. This claim was posted on Facebook by the page “Kosova e Re”, which has over 48 thousand followers. After verification carried out by hibrid.info, it turned out that this claim is untrue. In fact, the image used in the post has been manipulated. (here)

In a post published on Facebook, which uses a photo with the logo of the “Viva Fresh Store” supermarket chain, it is claimed that this company is giving away coupons worth 300 euros. To participate in this reward, users are asked to click a link and provide their personal data. The claim was published yesterday (June 6) by a Facebook page called “Weekly Wow Promo”. After an investigation conducted by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the Facebook page in question has no connection with the company “Viva Fresh Store”, while the link (domain) published turns out to be suspicious. Through an article published on the information portal “klankosova.tv” it is claimed that “The UN Coordinator in Kosovo requests that no official contacts be maintained with the Kurti Government”. This claim was made on June 2 on the “Rubikon” show on Klan Kosova, by the author of this show, Adriatik Kelmendi. Through a reaction through the official Facebook page, the UN team in Kosovo, on June 3, emphasized that it continues its cooperation with the Government of Kosovo.
