A message (SMS) has been sent to the phones of Kosovo citizens claiming to come from the Kosovo Post.

It asks that, through a provided link, citizens change their home address to supposedly receive a package.

What's wrong with this SMS?

After verification of the facts carried out by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that this SMS was sent via an email address “boneszstorm@gmail.com”. While the link presented in this SMS “postekosoves.top/ks” is suspicious and is not the official website of the Post of Kosovo.

Hibrid.info, using the online website verification platform “scamdoc.com”, has found that the link contained in the SMS is suspicious (see here)

The official website of the Post of Kosovo is "postakosoves.com". Through this website, the Kosovo Post has in the past called for caution against these fraudulent SMS.

"Kosovo Post, through its official Facebook page, has called on you not to click on any links sent through these messages and not to cooperate with numbers that are not from Kosovo Post." (see here)

What are phishing scams?

Phishing is a method of fraud where attackers attempt to obtain personal or financial information from victims by posing as trusted sources, usually through emails, messages, or fake websites (see here).

Hibrid.info, in addition to this SMS, has also dealt with other similar cases in the past that were falsely presented on behalf of the Kosovo Post. (see here, herehere, here and here)
