Abdixhiku's statement is being manipulated

Through one posting published on Facebook, it is alleged that the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has declared that "Voters should remain calm, I will not betray them, we will co-govern with the PDK."

The post with this claim was published yesterday (May 6) on Facebook by the page "Press Release".

The truth?

After fact-checking conducted by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that this statement was not made by Abdixhiku.

After conducting online research, hibrid.info found that the image used by Fleta Press was taken from the television website. Channel 10 on Facebook.

In the photo posted by the Kanal10 page, it can be seen that the inscription placed on the image where Abdixhiku is seen is "Voters should remain calm, I will not betray them."

So, the Fleta Press page has interfered with this image adding the sentence "we will co-govern with PDK".

At a press conference held yesterday (May 6), the LDK leader, asked if he would sit down at a table for talks with the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, said that the LDK's position remains unchanged. He assured LDK voters that he would not betray them. (see here from minute 8:20).

context

The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, on May 5, addressed a public letter to the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, in an attempt to overcome the institutional blockade and reach a political agreement for co-governance.

In this letter, Kurti emphasizes that voters of both parties, LVV and LDK, would today most prefer a joint coalition, expressing their willingness to cooperate in the interest of the country and its citizens. (see here)

On the other hand, Abdixhiku, yesterday (May 6) at a press conference after receiving the letter from Albin Kurti, came up with a proposal for the launch of a new political process, with the participation of all parties, calling for nationwide unity and a government that will function until the election of a new president. Analyze:

On May 6, the page "Fleta Press" published a false post on Facebook, claiming that LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku said: "Voters should stay calm, I will not betray them, we will co-govern with PDK."

After verification by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that Abdixhiku did not make such a statement. Fleta Press had manipulated an image taken from Kanal10, falsely adding the part "we will co-govern with PDK". At the press conference, Abdixhiku only confirmed that he will not betray the voters and that the LDK's position remains unchanged.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this post by the Fleta Press website as "Manipulation of facts" and "Disinformation".

Reasoning:

“Factual manipulation” is a rating given to informational content that uses facts known to be accurate but interprets them in a distorted manner. These reports typically use accurate information to draw incorrect conclusions or claims, thereby misleading consumers of media content about the actual meaning of the facts presented.

"Disinformation" is defined as information content that contains a "mix" of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful attributes, and that is created and/or distributed with the deliberate intention of causing harm. The motive behind the producers/distributors of disinformation content lies in achieving a political, financial, psychological or social goal.
