A photograph is published showing Vjosa Osmani, the president of Kosovo, and Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America (USA), together.
Ky image with the claim that the American president has declared that Kosovo will have to give the US a high percentage of Trepça's minerals in exchange for the aid given to Kosovo in 1999 by the US and its allies was published yesterday by a Facebook account called "Lajme Nga Bota".
But what is the truth?
Hibrid.info has found that there is no documented evidence that Donald Trump has made such a statement.

The content has received over 20 comments as of the time of writing. Based on what is written in the comments, it can be assessed that the audience is likely to perceive the claim as true.
First, hibrid.info has researched the photograph through which the claim was presented. Hibrid.info's findings show that this photograph was taken during President Osmani's meeting with President Trump, before he began his term as president after his re-election to this post, at the reopening ceremony of the Paris Cathedral "Notre Dame", in December 2024 (see here).
For these meetings, only announcements from the Presidency of Kosovo were found, without any clarifications about what was discussed (see here and here).
Donald Trump, after being re-elected as president in the elections of November 6, 2024, began his term on January 20, 2025 (see here). Since taking office, Vjosa Osmani was the only official who had the opportunity to meet the American president again. Hibrid.info found the announcement on the presidency's website, where it was shown that Vjosa Osmani met with US President Donald Trump during the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis on April 26, 2025 (see here).
This meeting was also not announced by the American presidency, while the announcement of the Presidency of Kosovo states that Osmani stated that the United States remains the most stable and important ally of Kosovo. She expressed that it is always a pleasure to meet President Donald Trump and to convey the deep love and gratitude of the people of Kosovo for America. She further added that Kosovo institutions are committed to making the alliance with the United States stronger than ever.
Which means that according to reports from these meetings, it cannot be confirmed that Trump has publicly stated what is alleged, from the content discussed.
Hibrid.info has also researched through the search engine “Google” for possible statements by Trump about Kosovo on other occasions. After searching in this search engine, with the keywords “donald trump kosova”, hibrid.info has noticed that since the beginning of his second term, Trump has not given any direct public statement about Kosovo (see here).
In Donald Trump's first term, the US mediated negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, which culminated in the signing of an agreement on economic normalization between the two countries on September 4, 2020, signed by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, at the White House, in the presence of US President Donald Trump.
In addition to the countries' commitments to each other, the agreement also included a commitment to cooperation with the US on economic development and energy, but Trepça was never mentioned at any point. (see here)
Trump has made a similar request to Ukraine, from whom he has asked for minerals in exchange for aid to Ukraine, a country whose territory has been occupied by Russia for four years (see here).
