The Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia claims without evidence that the looting in Lower Brnica was done with the aim of expelling Serbs

FESTIM RIZANAJ

The Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia published a statement on January 21 regarding the looting of two houses belonging to Serbian families in the village of Bërnica e Poshtme, near Pristina.

In the case of the looting, this institution stated that the action was carried out with the "purpose of expelling Serbs from their settlements."

After verification of the facts conducted by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the purpose and perpetrators of the crime are unknown.

Excerpt from the press release published by this office, translated into Albanian:

The series of attacks and looting of Serbian homes in areas south of the Ibar River continued with a new raid on two homes of Serbian families in the village of Brrnice e Poshtme, near Pristina.

In the years behind us, there is almost no Serbian home that has not been targeted by extremists, and looting threatens the existence of Serbs on the one hand, and their security on the other, as the greatest challenge facing our people in Kosovo.

With their daily anti-Serb movements (political structures in Pristina), they stimulate attacks on Serbian property and the Serbian people, whom they make legitimate targets, with the sole purpose of expelling Serbs from their centuries-old homes.

This statement has also been reported in Serbian-language media, which interprets it as "the existence and security of Serbs in Kosovo is threatened" and "almost no Serbian home has been left untouched by extremists." (here, here)

The Office for Kosovo does not provide factual data on the perpetrators of the crime, although it claims without basis that this is being done with the aim of expelling Serbs from their settlements.

Based on this robbery and two others that occurred in Lubozdë, Istog, and Plemet, Obliq, this office has created a theory based on no facts that "there is almost no Serbian home that is not targeted by extremists." (here, here)

While the motive and perpetrators of the crime are unknown for the latest case, the Kosovo Police has confirmed to the media that both cases were reported to the police on January 17.

Regarding the case in Lubozdë, Istog, the Kosovo Police and the Peja Prosecution Office have announced that "no major damage or damage caused by the human factor has been observed." (here)

Meanwhile, regarding the theft case in Plemetin, Obiliq, Kosovo Police has not been able to say who the suspects are for committing this criminal offense since no one has yet been arrested in the case. (here)

Analyze:

The Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia has claimed without evidence that the looting of two houses belonging to Serbian families in the village of Bërnica e Poshtme near Pristina was done with the "purpose of expelling Serbs from their settlements."

Furthermore, regarding the connection of this robbery with those that occurred in Lubozdë and Plemeti as a continuation, we have confirmations from the Kosovo Police and the Peja Prosecution Office. For the case in Lubozdë, the Police and the Prosecution have announced that there is no basis that it was committed by human hands, while for the case in Plemeti, the Police have stated that the perpetrators of the crime are unknown.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses that this article does not provide concrete facts for the claims made and is classified as a "conspiracy theory".

Rating:

"Conspiracy theories" are media reports that disseminate a false or unverifiable description of a phenomenon, event or person, presenting it as part of or the result of a secret plan ("conspiracy"). The characteristic of these reports is that they present a series of claims, presented as facts, between which cause-effect relationships are established, without providing any reliable evidence.
