Content titled “The Bank of Kosovo is suing Vehbi Kajtazi for what he said on live television".

The content claims an interview of the journalist Berat Buzhala with another journalist, Vehbi Kajtazi, where the latter tells about a way to get rich, through the online platform "Nearest Edge".

In the article, it is also claimed that the show was interrupted by a phone call from what is said to be the Bank of Kosovo, but the article also shows a part of this alleged interview between Buzhala and Kajtazi.

This content, which is presented as information published by the portal "telegrafi.com", was published by a website under the name of the online platform "Nearest Edge" (see here).

What did hibrid.info find?

The findings indicate that this content was published in an unauthorized manner on behalf of a media outlet and used false statements to present the intended information.

The fact that the claim about the method of enrichment through the online platform "Nearest Edge" was presented through a public statement by journalist Vehbi Kajtazi that was allegedly made on the show "Intervista e Buzhalës", hibrid.info has researched through search engines for Kajtazi's interviews on this program.

The only interview where Kajtazi spoke about the show in question was found on the official channel of the portal "Nacionale.com", on Youtube, published on January 23, 2023. The interview, from which and from which they were excerpted images of this article, is published in two parts and does not discuss the alleged way of getting rich (see here and here).

Secondly, hibrid.info has checked through the search engine “Google” for the claim of a possible lawsuit by the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK, referred to in the article as the Bank of Kosovo) against journalist Vehbi Kajtazi, but has not found any credible source confirming it (see here).

Meanwhile, to verify that this article was not prepared by the medium "telegrafi.com", whose website and logo appear in this article, hibrid.info has checked the website of this portal for news about journalist Kajtazi, but has not found anything similar to the claim in question (see here). This portal has also denied to "hibrid.info" the authorship of this content.

Hibrid.info has also verified the reliability of this website, through the website credibility platform, "ScamDoc.com", where based on the data displayed, it is confirmed that this domain is assessed to be moderately reliable and a source of content that is considered to be "SPAM"(see here).

Analyze:

The claim that the CBK has sued journalist Vehbi Kajtazi for a statement in an interview with another journalist, Berat Buzhala, where he shows how to get rich through an online platform, is untrue.

The publisher of this claim has unauthorizedly used the media website "telegrafi.com" to present the article, while the website publishing the article is suspicious.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this content as "Fake News" and "Fraud".

Reasoning:

The “Fake News” rating is given to informational content that is entirely fabricated or that contains factually incorrect claims or information. Content that is rated as fake news can be defined as having been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.

The “Deception” rating is given to informational content that is manipulated in terms of visual (deepfake, cheapfake), audio, or textual content to deceive the audience. This form of deception is usually used to produce false and manipulated content.
