Media in Kosovo have published a news story claiming that two Kosovar ministers in the Albanian government, Gent Cakaj (Foreign Minister) and Besa Shahini (Education Minister), will return to Kosovo for political engagement.
According to this news, the source of which was difficult to confirm by the hibrid.info team, it is said that Cakaj will leave the position of Albania's chief diplomat to join the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), while Besa Shahini will join the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo (PSD), which is led by the latter's husband, Dardan Molliqaj.
Furthermore, several other news items have been published stating that the Shahini Ministry, like Minister Cakaj, will also find engagement in the PDK.
However, both ministers mentioned in this news have denied this, calling it fake news.
At the time when hibrid.info conducted the “fact-checking” analysis, online media in Kosovo removed the publications and, as a result, it was impossible to find the source of this publication. For this reason, only the reaction of the two ministers will be published in this analysis. However, some media reports from Albania state that these news were originally published by “gazetaexpress”.
At the same time, "gazetaexpress", in its publications of the ministers' denial, refers to "veriu.info" as the medium that first published this news.
In the course of the research, the hibrid.info staff also looked at the publications of "veriut.info", but were unable to find this news, except for denials from the two ministers in question.
