The title does not clarify in which country the event took place.

FATBARDH DEMA

The "Koha.net" portal, on May 13, published on its official Facebook page an article titled "A man kills his girlfriend after she has an abortion."

After fact-checking conducted by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the title is a generalization, which does not clarify in which country the event occurred.

The news is clarified only after clicking on the article, the title of which then explains that the event took place in the USA.

Knowing that this portal is registered in Kosovo (see here), the title in question may misinform readers that this event occurred in our country.

To further confirm the fact that the event took place in the USA, hibrid.info has managed to find the article published in the British medium "TheGuardian.com", which was also quoted in the article published in "Koha.net". (see here)

Analyze:

The information portal "Koha.net" has published an article about a murder in the US, but the title does not clarify in which country the incident occurred.

This portal, which operates in Kosovo, has the largest number of readers from Kosovo, based on the followers of its Facebook page. Therefore, the failure to provide information about the location of the incident by this portal could very easily result in misinforming readers, making them think that the murder took place in Kosovo.

Based on the working methodology, hibrid.info evaluates this article as "Clickbait".

Reasoning:

The “Clickbait” rating is given to texts whose titles have no basis in the content of the following text. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the reader or even the consumer with a sensational title by promising content that does not actually exist and are created mainly out of financial interest, that is, due to increased readability. So, this type of text is intended only to click, which can be converted into a profit for the content producer.
