The title does not clarify in which country the increase in the price of bread has been announced.

HIBRID

The article titled "Energy price hike, price of bread 10 euros?" was published yesterday (September 19) by the information portal "Paparaci.com".

After fact-checking by hibrid.info, it was determined that the title of this article is a generalization. The title does not clarify in which country warnings of bread price increases were made.

This is made clear in the content, which states that warnings about the increase in this product were made by German bakers, which comes as a result of the increase in the cost of electricity.

Considering that this portal is registered in Kosovo (see here) and most of its readers are Albanian speakers (see here), this may misinform readers, making them assume that the warning about the increase in the price of bread to 10 euros is about Kosovo.

Excerpt from the article published on the portal "Paparaci.com":

Current energy prices are becoming unaffordable for many sectors in Germany, and bakeries are one of them. Now, according to the announcement they received from their gas supplier, they will no longer pay 10 cents per kWh, but 35.

A small bakery business, with the additional costs for gas, will have to spend €100,000 more per year on energy in the future, which will also lead to higher prices for dough products, where bread can go for 10 euros.

After research conducted through online search engines, hibrid.info has managed to find the authentic article published in the German medium in the Albanian version of "DeutcheWelle". (see here)

"Paparaci.com" took some parts from the "DeutcheWelle" article, while in the title it did not clarify that it was about Germany.

Analyze:

The "Paparaci.com" portal has published an article regarding the warning about the increase in the price of bread to 10 euros in Germany, as a result of the increase in the cost of electricity.

However, the title does not clarify which country it is referring to. This online medium has its primary readers from Kosovo, based on the followers of the Facebook page. Therefore, not providing information that specifies the origin of the news could very easily misinform readers, making them think that the warning about the increase in the price of bread is about Kosovo.

Based on the working methodology, hibrid.info evaluates this article as "Clickbait".

Reasoning:

The “Clickbait” rating is given to texts whose titles have no basis in the content of the following text. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the reader or even the consumer with a sensational title by promising content that does not actually exist and are created mainly out of financial interest, that is, due to increased readability. So, this type of text is intended only to click, which can be converted into a profit for the content producer.
