The title does not indicate that it is about Malaysia, while the article contains inaccurate claims about financial aid there.

OUR VERDICT

CLICKBAIT

The content lacks full context, as the title and image do not specify the location of the event.

A content is published with the caption "Decision made / €500 for each citizen, to be released on January 1".

content was published on Sunday (November 1), on Facebook by the page named "Prishtina City".

What's wrong with the content?

The content lacks full context, as the title and image do not specify the location of the event.

Furthermore, the article contains mixed information about Luxembourg and Malaysia, creating uncertainty about which country is alleged to have made the decision to allocate financial aid. Meanwhile, the amount and manner of providing the aid mentioned in the article do not match Malaysia's actual program.

The page that published the post has over 400 followers, most of whom are Albanian speakers (see here).

Attached to the post is an article published on a dubious portal, which has the caption of this post as its title (see here).

Unlike the title, the location of the news is given in the heading of the article, when it is stated that: "The Luxembourg government has announced an extraordinary economic decision, approving the allocation of financial support of 500 euros to every citizen who turned 18 in January of this year.. "

However, a discrepancy is noted in the content of the article, as the introduction claims that the decision was made by the Government of Luxembourg, while the concluding part mentions Malaysia and the Prime Minister of this country, Anwar Ibrahim.

The text claims that the financial aid aims to ease the economic burden of citizens and symbolically mark the national holiday.

It is further stated that the decision has been positively received by citizens, while analysts estimate that this initiative could affect the increase in purchasing power.

Hibrid.info has researched the claims in question. They have been verified through the artificial intelligence chatbots “Google Gemini” and “ChatGPT” (see here and here).

Results from the Google Gemini search evaluate false claims for both countries.

While ChatGPT has provided a response stating that the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia, on February 9, 2026, the government of this country has begun distributing a one-time financial assistance of 100 Malaysian ringgits (about 22 euros) for all citizens aged 18 and above, through the “Sumbangaan Asas Rahmah (SARA) Untuk Semua” program.

The results from this search also generated a link to the Malaysian Government's decision, confirming ChatGPT's response (see here).

So, based on these findings, in addition to the lack of full context in the title, the content of the article is distorted, as it combines information about two different countries and presents as a decision of the Luxembourg Government a financial aid that is actually related to a program of the Malaysian Government, with amounts and conditions completely different from those claimed in the title.

Analyze

The publication claims that a decision has been made to distribute 500 euros to each citizen, without specifying the location of the event in the title and image.

However, there is a discrepancy in the article, as it initially claims that the decision was made by the Luxembourg Government, while the concluding section mentions Malaysia and its Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim.

Hibrid.info's research has found that the financial assistance in question is related to a real Malaysian program, through which an amount of 100 Malaysian ringgits (about 22 euros) was allocated, not 500 euros. Meanwhile, no evidence has been found for the alleged decision of the Luxembourg Government.

Therefore, based on its work methodology, Hibrid.info assesses this content as "Clickbait" and "Manipulation of facts".

rationale

“Clickbait” is considered to be informational content whose title is general and does not disclose the location of the event, context and relevance. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the audience with sensational headlines with misleading consequences, which do not accurately clarify the content of the article. “Clickbait” headlines are mainly made to attract readability in the case of media publications and/or to earn from clicks in the case of commercial publications.

“Factual manipulation” is a rating given to informational content that uses facts known to be accurate but interprets them in a distorted manner. These reports typically use accurate information to draw incorrect conclusions or claims, thereby misleading consumers of media content about the actual meaning of the facts presented.
