Videos have been published on TikTok by the account named "qiyameti2024", claiming the existence of a virus.
Video footage published in the last 24 hours warns of the spread of this virus, named "Axar", even describing it as a pandemic.
Although this is not the first time that hibrid.info has encountered the same claim, this time it has also verified and confirmed the facts to refute the claim raised through these video materials.
Links to video materials published on TikTok by the account "qiyameti2024":
Hibrid.info, after researching through search engines, managed to find the list of currently widespread infectious diseases on the website of the "Center for Disease Control and Prevention" (CDC), a US government agency. In the announced list, none of the widespread infectious diseases includes the virus claimed in the aforementioned videos, named "Axar". (see here)
Hibrid.info has also confirmed that if you search the search engine, "Google.com", for the word "axar virus", no evidence proving the existence of this virus will appear.
Meanwhile, in statements over the past few days, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the World Health Organization (WHO), emphasized the risk of a possible pandemic, but without specifying any specific virus.
The statement by the head of the WHO raises the alarm about the risk of another pandemic, calling on countries around the world to implement reforms so that the next potential pandemic can be more easily dealt with (see here, here and here).
A similar claim was previously verified by hibrid.info (see here).
Analyze:
The account "qiyameti2024" has published several videos on TikTok.
The video claims the existence of a virus named "Axar", spread throughout the world, but hibrid.info has proven that such a virus does not exist.
Therefore, based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses the claim in this video as "Fake News".
Reasoning:
The "Fake News" rating is given to media reports that are entirely the product of a medium that itself contains factually incorrect claims or information.
Content that is considered fake news can be reliably determined to have been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.
