The data published on the website "fuel-prices.eu", which collects and presents fuel price data from official sources, does not support this claim.
According to this platform, the price of a liter of diesel in North Macedonia is 1.62 euros. The data shows the price history from June 25 to September 29, 2026.
During this period, according to “fuel-prices.eu”, the lowest price recorded for a liter of diesel was 1.297 euros, on July 6, while the highest price was 1.698 euros, on September 22 (see here).
This data shows that the claim published on Facebook that a liter of diesel at the "Besa Petrol" pump in Skopje costs 1.16 euros does not match the data published by "fuel-prices.eu".
According to data from this platform, the price of oil in North Macedonia on September 29 is around 1.62 euros per liter. This coincides with the new price set by the Energy Regulatory Commission of North Macedonia, which entered into force on September 29 (see here).
Also, the image published by the "Universal" page, which claims that the price of a liter of diesel at this pump is 1.16 euros, turns out to be generated with artificial intelligence. The platform for detecting content generated with AI, "Hive Moderationn", assessed the image with a 99.9% probability of being created with artificial intelligence (see photo below).
