An image has been published on social media Facebook depicting former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic during a speech, while the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, is also seen next to him.
This image was found posted on Monday (August 3) on Facebook by the account "Nuredin Drenica".
The truth?
After fact-checking conducted by hibrid.info, it was confirmed that this image is fabricated.
FACTS
Initially, this image was searched through the automated program “InVID.” The results show that the real person in the photo is another person and not Kurti.
Based on data provided by the TinEye search engine, the original photo has been circulating online since 2010 (see here)
Also, hibrid.info found an article by the German media outlet "Spiegel.de" which published the original photograph, the caption of which explains that this image was taken in Belgrade during a speech by Milošević in 1989 (see here).
So, the image published on Facebook showing Kurti next to Milosevic is edited.
The reason for addressing this content is that, as of the writing of this article, it has managed to collect 483 reactions, 678 comments and 149 shares. (see photo below).
