Three Albanian-language portals in the last two days have published articles with generalizing titles, with events that have occurred in other countries, or even without indicating in the title that it is someone's opinion and not a fact.
All three articles use illustrative photographs.
What headlines did these Albanian-language media outlets use and what did hibrid.info find?
“Shocking/ 12-year-old arrested for sexually abusing a 9-year-old,” is the title of the article published on Wednesday (July 3) by the medium “botasot.info”. For the photograph, this portal used an illustration. After verification, hibrid.info found that the article itself indicates that the case occurred in Diavata, Thessaloniki, Greece. The title and the photograph were also used on social networks (See here). The news was taken from reports in Greece (See here).

In another case, “kosova-sot.info” wrote about the suspension of over 20 police officers and used a photo with the caption “Latest News”. “Over 20 police officers suspended from duty” is the title of the article published on Wednesday. The news item talks about the suspension of employees of the Police Directorate in Korça and the Border and Migration Directorate. Meanwhile, the State Police announcement states that 19 employees have been suspended and that investigations have been launched against them (See here).

The third case is not about not mentioning the location where the event took place, but the title does not indicate that it is about the position of a person. “Donald Trump’s coming to power will re-actualize the division of Kosovo” is the title of the article published by “ntv.al” on Thursday (July 4). While the misleading title considers this issue as a fait accompli, the article indicates that it is about the positions of the American professor, Daniel Serwer. (Written by server)

Analyze:
The aforementioned portals "botasot.info", "kosova-sot.info" and "ntv.al" have published articles with misleading titles, failing to indicate where the reported events took place, or failing to indicate that they are opinion pieces.
After fact-checking analysis conducted by hibrid.info, these headlines are considered "clickbait".
Reasoning:
The “Clickbait” rating is given to texts whose titles have no basis in the content of the following text. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the reader or even the consumer with a sensational title by promising content that does not actually exist and are created mainly out of financial interest, that is, due to increased readability. So, this type of text is intended only to click, which can be converted into a profit for the content producer.
