Montaged image showing footage of Halil Matoshi in Kralevë

HIBRID

The TikTok account named "lagraqsaqi" published a video yesterday (February 27), which features the image of columnist Halil Matoshi.

In the photograph, Matoshi appears in a place, a sign on which points to the settlement "Kraljevë", (here) with the caption placed by the author of the publication claiming that the columnist went to Serbia to receive payment, following the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) to ban the circulation of the Dinar currency in Kosovo.

Based on the comments posted in the comments section, hibrid.info estimates that the audience from this publication may be informed that Matoshi is paid by the Serbian state.

But, after verifying the facts by hibrid.info, the real photo of columnist Halil Matoshi was found, where in fact the sign appears, which points to the settlement "Tugjec" (here), which factors in the interference in the authentic image.

Hibrid.info has researched using search engines and found the photo published by Halil Matoshi on his Facebook account, a photo where Matoshi actually appears in a place, a sign on which he points to the location "Tugjec", a village located in the municipality of Dardana (see here).

Analyze:

An account has interfered with an image of columnist Halil Matoshi, replacing the name of the Serbian city, "Kraljevo", with the name of the settlement shown in the photograph.

Hibrid.info has found the real photo, in which the table shown shows that Matoshi published images from the settlement, Tugjec, a village in the municipality of Dardana.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this content as "Fraud".

Reasoning:

The “Deception” rating is given to informational content that is manipulated in terms of visual (deepfake, cheapfake), audio, or textual content to deceive the audience. This form of deception is usually used to produce false and manipulated content.
