The image of the destroyed square in Kiev is not from the current war

HIBRID

The online medium "GazetaBlic.com" has published an article regarding several explosions in the city of Kiev in Ukraine, to which it has attached inadequate photographs.

After researching hibrid.info through digital search engines, it has been confirmed that an inappropriate photograph was included in this article, as it does not pertain to the Russian aggression currently taking place in Ukraine, but the same was done during the 2014 protests in Kiev.

The photograph that brings images of Independence Square or as it is otherwise known as "Maidan" Square (see here), during the revolution euromaidan against the power of the former President of Ukraine – Viktor Yanukovych.

It is not the first time that online media in Kosovo have used this 2014 photograph, claiming to present it as an image of the current war.

The same photo was also published on the portal lajmi.net on February 25, 2022, which was also verified by hibrid.info. (see here)

Analyze:

"GazetaBlic.com", in an article published regarding several explosions in Kiev, used an old photograph of the "Maidan" square, which is seen destroyed.

After research by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the photo is not current and was taken in February 2014 during the "Euromaidan" revolution against the rule of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

Based on the facts verified by hibrid.info, it turns out that the content of this post is "Error".

Reasoning:

The "Error" rating is given to media reports in which the media editorial staff made a mistake by publishing incorrect information or broadcasting unverified news from another source, without the clear intention of misinforming the public.
