An image showing police forces has been published, with the caption claiming that Serbian gendarmerie were seen moving in the village of Karaqevë, Kamenica municipality.

Photography It was published on December 25 on TikTok by an account named "fokusi.dites".

Hibrid.info has found that the current claim was presented through an old photograph.

Hibrid.info has researched through search engines and found that Qëndron Kastrati, the former mayor of Kamenica, had reported on the entry of the Serbian gendarmerie into the territory of Kosovo, namely in Karaqevë, through a posting on March 20, 2020, where he published this photograph, through which the content discussed in this text is presented.

Hibrid.info has also researched through the search engine, "Google", to find possible reports this week regarding this claim, but results The research has not offered anything concrete.

It is not the first time that hibrid.info has handled similar content (see here).

Analyze:

The claim about the entry of Serbian gendarmerie into the territory of Kosovo in recent days is not true.

The photograph showing the Serbian gendarmerie inside Kosovo, through which the claim was made, is original, but the same was taken in 2020.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses this content as "Disinformation".

Reasoning:

"Disinformation" is defined as information content that contains a "mix" of inaccurate sources or even half-truthful attributes, and that is created and/or distributed with the deliberate intention of causing harm. The motive behind the producers/distributors of disinformation content lies in achieving a political, financial, psychological or social goal.
