Serbian media claims without facts that Kurti was the organizer of the Albanian protest in Bujanovac

With the headline “Kurti is trying to shift tensions to the south of central Serbia through Bujanovac”, Serbian media “Politika.rs", citing an article in the Serbian-language newspaper "Vecernje Novosti", has claimed without facts that the organizer of Monday's (August 12) Albanian protest in the Presheva Valley was Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The article states that the Kosovo Prime Minister is attempting to transfer the tensions that he "continually maintains in the north" to southern Serbia.

According to the article in "Politika", one of the proofs of this is "the rally held recently in Bujanovac, where several hundred Albanians gathered."

What does this report say?

Serbian-language media outlet Politika says that according to reports, "everything that was heard and seen was confirmation that the real reason for the rally was purely political, and that the real organizer did not come on stage but "directs from Pristina"."

"With the support of his political allies, on several occasions he pushed the issue of the 'Presevo Valley' to the Brussels negotiating table, drawing a false parallel between the position of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and Albanians in south-central Serbia. This has also been one of his favorite topics whenever he has been asked to explain why the AKS has not yet been formed," writes "Politika" citing the article in "Novosti" (the article by Vecernje Novosti was not published in the newspaper's online edition). Who organized the protest in Bujanovac?

After research conducted by hibrid.info, it has been confirmed that the protest in Bujanovac held on August 12 was organized by the Albanian National Council (NKS) in Bujanovac. (see here)

The President of the Albanian National Congress, Nevzad Lutfiu, on August 10 on his official Facebook profile, had called for participation in this protest, which they titled "PROTEST FOR IDENTITY AND DIGNITY". (see here)

Analyze:

"Politika.rs", citing an article in the Serbian-language newspaper "Vecernje Novosti", has claimed without any facts that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was the organizer of Monday's Albanian protest in Bujanovac.

After verifying the facts, hibrid.info found that this protest was organized by the Albanian National Council (AKSH) in Bujanovac.

Furthermore, based on research conducted by hibrid.info, Prime Minister Kurti has never made a statement regarding the protest in question.

Therefore, based on the working methodology, hibrid.info evaluates the claim made by the Serbian-language media as a "Conspiracy Theory".

Reasoning:

"Conspiracy theories" are considered to be informational content that contains a false or unverifiable description of a phenomenon, event or person, presenting it as part or the result of a secret plan ("conspiracy"). The characteristic of these contents is that they present a series of claims, presented as facts, between which cause-effect relationships are established, without providing any reliable evidence.
