A video and photographs are published, showing the results of public opinion surveys that are claimed to be surveys showing support for political entities in our country.

Both pieces of content discussed were published on TikTok. Photography was published by the account named "cari1.fat" (three days ago), while video It was published by the account named "kinggggg_speed" (three days ago).

What's wrong with this content?

Both contents display the results of measurements taken in the past, while they are being published now at a time when the country is in an election campaign on the eve of the parliamentary elections on December 28.

The photo has received over 100 thousand views and nearly 200 comments, while the video has over 55 thousand views and nearly 140 comments. In the comments, it has been noted that the content has sparked debate, with users expressing their trust in the content and giving their predictions for the results.

In the first content, based on the audio and what is seen in the photograph, it is understood that we are dealing with a survey published on the television show "Rubikon", which is broadcast on "KlanKosova" television.

While the second one was taken from another TV show, "Debat Plus", broadcast on "Rtv Dukagjini".

Hibrid.info has checked the playlist of these two shows on the respective television channels' YouTube channels and found that in the period before and after the start of the election campaign for the early elections of December 28, no polls were published on these shows (see Keu and here).

After checking with search engines, it was found that the first content showing the results of the question of which party will win the elections regardless of which one they will vote for, was taken from a poll that was conducted on January 7, 2021, before the parliamentary elections on February 14 (see here).

The survey was conducted by “Pipos” and published in “Klan Kosova”. It is noticeable in the photograph that the list of parties for which public support was measured also includes the Initiative led by Vjosa Osmani. This means that the survey was conducted before the formation of the “Guxo List”, which was later included in the list of the Vetëvendosje Movement for the February 14 elections (see here).

After these elections, Vjosa Osmani was voted (April 4, 2021) by the Assembly of Kosovo as the country's president, a position she still holds today (see here).

While the second content was found to be detached from a survey published on December 25, 2023 on "Rtv Dukagjini", conducted by "UBO Consulting" (see here).

These findings show that these published surveys are credible, as they contain information on how these measurements were made and they were carried out by professional companies (see here). However, these polls are old and have been published as if they were relevant to the current elections.

President Vjosa Osmani on 20 November, he decided to dissolve the Assembly and announced 28 December as the date for early parliamentary elections. The campaign for these elections began on Wednesday 17 December (see here).

Analyze:

The content published on TikTok presents the results of surveys conducted in previous periods, but has been distributed as if they were relevant to the current elections of December 28.

Although the surveys presented are real and conducted by professional companies, the context of their publication is erroneous and potentially misleading to the public.

As a result, a false perception of political support at the present time may be created.

Therefore, based on the working methodology, hibrid.info assesses this content as "Manipulation of facts".

Reasoning:

“Factual manipulation” is a rating given to informational content that uses facts known to be accurate but interprets them in a distorted manner. These reports typically use accurate information to draw incorrect conclusions or claims, thereby misleading consumers of media content about the actual meaning of the facts presented.
