An article has been published on an information portal in Kosovo claiming that the famous singer, Labinot Tahiri, is expected to join the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
The "Periskopi.com" article was published yesterday (October 29), which also highlighted that the singer will also be a candidate for MP in the elections to be held next year on February 9.
What did hibrid.info find?
A quick investigation conducted by hibrid.info found that the article in question has now been deleted from this portal's website (see here).
However, the link to this article published by Periscope still appears in the online search engine "Google" (see here).

However, the article claiming that Tahiri is expected to join the LDK and that he will be on the list for MPs was also found published on at least one other portal named “Kosovalive.net”, in the content of which Periscope is cited as a source of information (see here).
In this article, it is noted that the information was published without contacting the person cited.

Meanwhile, singer Tahiri was contacted by the information portal "FrontOnline.net". Here, he denied the claim that he will be a candidate for MP in these elections (see here).
"No, no. I am not running in these elections, and may the entire population see the good in the parties that want to vote for their candidates." he is quoted as saying.
Among other things, Tahiri added that there was no "no meeting with LDK".
A little context:
Labinot Tahiri was elected MP in 2017 as a candidate from the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), a party which at the time was running on a joint electoral list with the LDK.
Analyze:
It was claimed that singer Labinot Tahiri is expected to join the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) to compete on the list for MPs in the national elections to be held on February 9th.
The article, originally published by the portal "Periskopi.com", has since been deleted, but it still appears on Google. The article in question has also been published on at least one other Albanian-language information portal.
Tahiri himself, in a statement to the portal "FrontOnline.net", denied rumors that he will run for MP in the upcoming elections. He also said that he has not had any meetings with the LDK.
Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses the article published by Periskopi.com as "Unverified Content".
Reasoning:
The "Unverified" rating is given to those informative contents that do not provide sufficient information to confirm the claims made in the report, and which could not be verified due to certain circumstances (speed, lack of sources) during the publication of the content.
