Several Albanian-language media outlets published an article yesterday (July 30) claiming that the animated series "The Simpsons" predicted the change in Twitter's logo.
The claim is based on a photo taken in one of the episodes of this series, which shows a phone with an application underneath that is claimed to resemble the new Twitter logo.
But after verification, it was proven that the claim is unfounded.

While the previously verified claim about The Simpsons' prediction of the Twitter logo was based on a doctored photo (see here), the claim raised by Albanian-language media points to the alleged similarity of the application logo shown in the photograph to that of Twitter.
In all three articles, the alleged similarity of the logos is sourced from fans of this series.
Hibrid.info after research has verified and found a photo that shows the similarity of the logo shown in "The Simpsons" and what is claimed to be the new Twitter logo. However, the logo shown in the image turns out to be of the "Safari" search engine, which is implemented in the iOS operating system of Apple's iPhone devices.
In the research conducted by hibrid.info, it turns out that the icons of these applications, in the same order as in the image of "The Simpsons", were found on the "interface" (homepage) of the first generation, 2G model of iPhone devices. (see here)

To further prove it, hibrid.info has found articles from other international fact-checkers, who highlight the similarity of the logo in question to that of the old "Safari" logo (see here, here and here).
Analyze:
An article has been published by several Albanian-language media outlets, claiming that the change of Twitter's logo to an X was predicted by an earlier episode of "The Simpsons."
It is claimed to be similar to the new Twitter logo, a logo of an application on a phone shown in one of the episodes of this series.
But after verification, it was confirmed that the logo actually bears similarities to the old logo of the "Safari" application.
Based on the working methodology, hibrid.info has assessed these pages as "Conspiracy Theories".
Reasoning:
"Conspiracy theories" are media reports that disseminate a false or unverifiable description of a phenomenon, event, or person, presenting it as part of or the result of a secret plan ("conspiracy"). A characteristic of these reports is that they present a series of claims, presented as facts, between which cause-effect relationships are established, without providing any credible evidence.
