A photo of Vlora Çitaku, secretary general of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), is published, with the caption claiming that this political entity has opposed the Croatia-Albania-Kosovo military agreement, considering it useless if Serbia is not part of it.

it CONTENT with this claim was published (March 23) on Facebook, by the account named "Lule Gjeli"

How does the truth stand?

Hibrid.info has found that PDK has not expressed the position claimed in this post.

There are nearly 140 comments on the post. Based on what is written in the comments, it can be estimated that readers of this content may take the claim as true.

On March 18, the Declaration on Cooperation in the Field of Defense was signed in Tirana by the Defense Ministers of Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo (see here).

On the official PDK website, since that date, no official reaction from this entity has been found, either for or against this agreement (see here).

Also, using the search engine, "Google", researching through keywords that reflect the claim, no official confirmation was found that such a position was expressed by the PDK (see here).

Furthermore, hibrid.info found that the photograph used to present the claim was taken from a PDK press conference in November 2021, where, through Çitaku, this subject made a statement regarding the progress of the local election process (see here).

Analyze:

The claim that PDK opposed the Croatia-Albania-Kosovo military agreement, considering it useless without Serbia's involvement, is untrue.

Hibrid.info found that the largest opposition entity has not given a public position on this issue.

Based on its work methodology, hibrid.info assesses the content as "Fake News".

Reasoning:

The “Fake News” rating is given to informational content that is entirely fabricated or that contains factually incorrect claims or information. Content that is rated as fake news can be defined as having been created and distributed with the intent to misinform the public, i.e., to present a claim that is completely false as fact.
