A video has been published claiming that the footage shows Bayraktar drones being tested in Kosovo.
The video with this claim was published yesterday (May 15) on TikTok by the account "Kosovo_army1".
The truth?
After fact-checking by hibrid.info, it was determined that the claim is false. The video was shot last year in Turkey.
After researching through the automated program “InVID”, hibrid.info found that the footage was published on May 25 by Selçuk Bayraktar, the chairman of the board of the company “Baykar” which also produces Bayraktar drones. (see here)
This video explains that the footage shows Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akıncı drones during a training exercise.
Hibrid.info also found an article published in the Turkish media "turkiyegazetesi.com.tr" in which this video material is also found.
The content of the article states that the footage is from Turkey's EFES-2024 military exercise, in which 47 defense industry companies, as well as the Turkish Armed Forces, participated. (see here)
This fake content published on TikTok was addressed by hibrid.info on the grounds that it managed to accumulate in just one day nearly 84 thousand views and 189 comments.
