"Shocking case, 14-year-old raped by 12 people. 11-year-old was a guard," is the title of the article accompanied by a photograph of a forest, published on information portals with content in the Albanian language.

Belgium is the country where the rape of a 14-year-old girl by 12 people has been reported. However, in articles published on Monday (May 13), Albanian-language news outlets “a2news.com”, “botapress.info” and “oranews.tv” did not mention the location in the headline.

The content of the article is the same in all three media outlets. Right from the beginning of the article it is stated that it is reporting on a case that occurred in Belgium.

The article was also shared on social media with the same comprehensive title. Since the aforementioned media outlets operate in the Albanian language, the failure to provide information about the country could easily misinform readers.

This happened on the "RTV Ora" Facebook page that shared the link to "oranews.tv". There, the post received comments that suggest that some of the commentators thought the event had taken place in Albania.

After research conducted through online search engines, hibrid.info found the article published in the Belgian media "The Brussels Time". (see here)

Analyze:

The information portals "a2news.com", "botapress.info" and "oranews.tv" have published an article about an event that allegedly took place in Belgium, but in their headlines and in their distribution on Facebook they have not indicated the location of the event.

And the content of the articles explains that the event took place in the Belgian city of Kortrijk.

Based on the working methodology, hibrid.info evaluates this article as "Clickbait".

Reasoning:

The “Clickbait” rating is given to texts whose titles have no basis in the content of the following text. Such texts and articles aim to attract the attention of the reader or even the consumer with a sensational title by promising content that does not actually exist and are created mainly out of financial interest, that is, due to increased readability. So, this type of text is intended only to click, which can be converted into a profit for the content producer.
