Unverified allegation of gunfire at the border crossing in Jarinje against an employee of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs

FATBARDH DEMA

A post was published on the social media "Telegram" by a Serbian-language account yesterday (January 21) claiming that on that day at the border crossing in Jarinje, a gun was fired at a person employed by the Serbian Ministry of Interior.

The account in question, in this post, continues to claim that this person was shot while he was hunting.

After conducting research, hibrid.info has not found this information published in the main Albanian and Serbian language media that it monitors on a daily basis, and this case has not been reported in the 24-hour report of the Kosovo Police.

The post published by the “BUNT jestađeduha” account on Telegram, translated into Albanian:

Today, at around 10:00 in the morning, a person was shot at at the Jarinje administrative crossing. We have not published the information until now, because we were waiting for confirmation of who it is, so now we have confirmed that it is a person employed by the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) of the Republic of Serbia, in the Raška region. We will not make the identity and position held by this person public, because it is one of the most important positions. He was shot at while he was hunting, and he legally wanted to visit his parents in Kosovo. He was shot at for no reason, near the Jarinje administrative crossing, from where he crossed into Central Serbia. Have we reached the point where employees of any service of the Ministry of the Interior, or other people living in Central Serbia, cannot visit their families in Kosovo without being shot at?

In the 24-hour report issued by the Kosovo Police for January 21, the date when the aforementioned incident is alleged to have occurred, this event was not reported to have occurred. (see photo below)

Apart from the 24-hour report, this event has not been reported on the official Kosovo Police Facebook page, and as of the writing of this article, the last announcement made on this page dates back to January 19. (see here)

Hibrid.info has not found such reporting in the main Albanian and Serbian language media that it monitors on a daily basis.
