The Russian Foreign Ministry has raised alleged concerns about the idea of creating a "Greater Albania".
This was announced through a notice published on the official website of this ministry, claiming that the plan for the creation of, as they say, Greater Albania, was made public at the October 2 meeting in Tirana between the governments of Albania and Kosovo, precisely the statement of Prime Minister Edi Rama on the removal of regional borders.
In this statement by the Russian ministry, the statement of the Albanian Prime Minister has been removed from the real context, interpreting it as Rama's request for the removal of the border only with Kosovo and as preparation for the creation of what is said to be "Greater Albania".
Excerpt from the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement translated into Albanian:
The thesis about the necessity of 'erasing borders' between Albania and Kosovo cannot but cause concern. We would like to remind you that Kosovo (and this is confirmed by Resolution 1244 of the United Nations Security Council) is an integral part of Serbia and a loose interpretation of the principle of territorial integrity when it comes to a sovereign country cannot be understood otherwise than as gross interference in its internal affairs.
There is a clear impression that Pristina and Tirana, despite the dubious and dangerous nature of their rapprochement, continue to push the line of Greater Albania no matter what their plans disguise. Such actions pose a real threat to peace and stability in the Balkans.

The statements made in this statement are seen to contradict reality and what was said at the last meeting of the two respective governments.
Prime Minister Rama's statement, which was used as a pretext to create this alleged judgment by Russian diplomacy, actually referred to the removal of the Kosovo-Albania border in the sense of creating a customs database and common border points between Kosovo and Albania, which are also envisaged in the rumored project for the creation of the area known as "Mini-Schengen" in the Balkan region.
